Default Break in questions.

When I get done driving, even at short distances, the engine is really hot smelling. If I look at the temp guage inside it isn't even halfway... so I know it isn't hot, I'm just wondering if it always does this on new vehicles?

ALSO!!!!!

I kinda got stuck in the snow today, so I threw it in 4LOCK and I was still slipping, so I threw it in 4LO while in neutral, threw it in reverse, let out clutch, and it made kind of a wierd grinding noise, I waited for the 4LO light to stop blinking, then shifted it into R, then let out the clutch and it scared me soo much. So I put it in 4LOCK gave it a little less gas, and got out fine.

Why the hell is it making this grinding sound? Cuz it is really scaring me.

The burning smell is quite common. It is the manifolds. It will go away in a couple of days. If you are worried have your service department look it over....As for the grinding, put it in neutral shift to four lock and wait for the light to stop blinkin' before you try to resume moving it....Don't worry you won't hurt it.

Usually only get the grind when the gears are meshing. Try it a few times of putting it in N wait for light to stop blinking and put it in gear. If it does it every time, you should take it back to the dealer and have them look at it. The gears probably aren't meshing.
