Default TSB warranty work question

Hey all.

My '05 Dakota Quad Cab V6 (8.25axle) is about to go into the shop for the dreaded brake shuddering issue. This service bulletin was issued in Nov. '05 and my truck only has 4400 miles on it. My question is: Is all work performed under a TSB covered (free of charge under warranty) as long as it is done within the 3 year 36k mile terms? There aren't any special clauses that exclude certain conditions or decrease the time/mileage terms... are there?

unless you have a aftermarket rear end and brakes then it should all be covered

Just had my '05 Dakota done at 12,272 miles. They replaced front rotors, new rear axles, shoes, hardware and refaced rear drums. All was warranty and cost to me was zero. No more vibrating when brakeing. Stops smooth as silk!

Delong

How noticable was your brake shuddering?

Mine seems more noticeable at sometimes than others. It is mainly noticeable above 30mph. Glad to hear it's fixed.

Everything in the TSB should be covered under warranty, except sitiuations like Trest mentioned. Sometimes, replacing stock steel wheels with aluminum has found to be necessary in truly fixing the issue, but those aren't covered in the TSB. Recommend having them fulfill the TSB first, and if you still have problems - mention the aluminim wheels, but a bit of convincing and arguing on your part may be necessary. You may want to review my last post on the third page in the article "My '05 Dakota nightmare". I didn't start the forum, but participated in it for quite some time.

I plan on taking mine to the dealer for the TSB work only (I have alum wheels) and will let y'all know...

Good luck! Keep us posted!

Thanks.

The dealer replaced everything according to the TSB (except the wheels). My shudder problem was not that bad, but I am glad it was all replaced. The truck seems to be all right now, but I will keep an eye on it for the next few days. The total time to replace all parts was about 5 hours and I was treated very professionally by the dealer.
