Default 2005 Dakota Recall ?!?

After reading the vibration issues with some of the 2005 Dakota's I wonder if there is rear axel, steel wheel or braking system recall looming in the near future? I would think this would be one of those "it won't just go away by it self" issues and DC would want to get it taken care of. If it's not happening with the 06's that leads me to believe they atleast have a finger on what's actually causing this issue. I just finished reading about 30 or so complaints on a few other forums in adition to the ones here and it's got me feeling a little sick.

I just bought my 05 last week and had I known any better I might have opted for an '06. For now mine seems ok but I'll be watching this issue closely until I see some sort of resolution.

For those of you expeirenceing these problems I feel for you and hope it's resolved sooner rather than later.

Are there any of you out there not haveing an issue with your '05 Dakota vibrating while up to speed or while braking?

I had both but, they replaced my rear brake shoes with '06 shoes and the shimmering/shaking stopped while I was braking. However, it is still there while cruising and usually noticable around 55 MPH. I have also noticed that when I hit a bump it sends a shudder down the whole vehicle. It has me baffled and I am not getting any help from customer support or the dealer. It's frustrating!!!

Take it to another dealership. Somebody will find out what the problem is. Even suggest the possibility of the wheels.

Yes. No problems here, just shy of 18000 miles.

No problems here with my '05 3.7L. Made a number of trips to my daughter's place in Pennsylvania via NJ T'pike and Pennsy Pike and up to 75-80 mph now and then. No vibration issues at all. But to be honest, I've got custom (American Racing) wheels and BF Goodrich Long Trail tires, not oem. Whether wheels/tires turn out to be the vibration culprits for other posters on this issue, I can't say, it may be something else altogether.....brake system, etc. If you are not getting satisfaction from your dealer, contact your state Attorney General's office.

Well it's good to here there's a TSB out there, and not "everyone" is having this issue. With just about 300 miles on my new truck, this issue was killing my buzz. I haven't felt as much as a rumble in the rear end or while braking as of yet(knock on wood).
