Ring & Pinion Ratio???
I am considering swithing my stock 3.55 gears on my 06 quad 4x2 to either 3.90 or 4.10 gears, and run 32" tires. Can someone tell me which rearend size, and the shaft diameter, and also recommend any certain brands. I was considering richmond gear. Thanks for any info, Don.

RE: Ring & Pinion Ratio???
I have Motive Gears in my truck......V-8 Quad Cab 4x2.....4.10 gears
Just a little noisy, but that's expected with any aftermarket gear. Only an OEM gear will be quiet.
If you have a V-8 in your truck, then you should have the 9.25 rear end.
Counting the bolts on the differential cover will tell you which rear end you have or if you check the inside label on your glovebox, that'll tell you too.
12 bolts = 9.25 rear end
10 bolts = 8.25 rear end

Yes, I have the 9.25" rearend. I just returned from the dealership to see about factory gears, and they wanted over $600 for just the ring & pinion!!!!! I about fell over. They told me that anything above 3.91 would affect the abs. I wasn't too impressed with them. Can anyone tell me if this is bs or not? Thanks, Don.

Like I said.....I have the 4.10's and haven't had any problems
You don't wanna go to the dealer to buy the gears from them though...lol
You can buy the 3.92 gears (which were a factory option) from someone used or just check on ebay.
Might wanna even try posting a Want to Buy ad on a couple of the dodge/dakota websites!
Here's a guy on Dakota USA selling his:
