Default Suspension Noise's

Since winter i have been getting suspension noise's, you can feel it and hear it, when it got really cold out the suspension was stiff and rattled and clanked, so i figured the weather had something to do with it cause last summer when i got the truck there wasnt any noises like i hear now, and i have had it checked out, the dealer said there was no problems, yeah who knows if they really checked it though, it pisses me off you know you buy this new truck and your on bumby roads and all you hear is metal rattling and its like the whole back end rattles underneath, am i missing something, do the 05 Dak's have that tight of a suspension, can your shocks go bad, maybe all my shocks are shot, i could swear that at times when i was driving the rear end would freeze up.

Thanx Yall Chad

Take a good look at the rear springs one may be cracked in the center, maybe a shim has falled out etc. Try spraying some lube in between the leafs, they have been known to make noise. Change the springs they are not that much cash. The rear suspension is a simple set up not many things to go bad. Worst case if it drives you crazy change everything with after market quality springs and shocks.

I've run into the same problem too. My guess has been that due to the softness of the suspension, it just transfers into a lot of road noise since the wheels move so much. I doubt there's a problem, but stiffer shocks might help. The only problem with that is they may throw off the towing balance of the truck. This is all purely speculation since I am not a trained mechanic, but in my head it works out right.
