I'm not sure about the Durango but it's most likely the same (if it's a similar year, 2005). After a lot of head banging, the only way that I know of to add speakers/amp to a factory receiver (cleanly) is either via the Audiocontrol LC8 (LC6i) or the JL Cleansweep. The problem is the front signal is crossed at the factory amplifier (opposed to the rears). The aformentioned devices manipulate these signals making it easier to just add speakers/amp. Anyway, I ultimately bought an aftermarket headunit and bypassed the factory amp - bye bye steering wheel controls ...for now.

You can get those steering wheel controls back....

That hooks up inside your dash to make them work. There are other brands/models available from other locations....but thats the one I know of....

Ya, I think I may try that option eventually. I wasn't sure if they were compatible with the 2005 Daks yet but might be.

BTW, my system does kick a** now! Premium system was a waste of money!

You got that right, I test drove one w/ and w/o the premium system and there was almost no diffrence. Not worth the money at all.
