Well I got a 06 dakota now. I didn't trade in my 01, gonna keep it for a work truck.
the 06 is a Black club cab,6 speed man, tow package, sport apperance group ( bump
to bumper BLACK) SLT package. headed to the garage to put some goodies on friday.
Will b posting so pick this weekend. I really was't lookin for black but couldn't find another truck
with the 3 items I wanted. (Sport, tow & 6 speed) I'll also get to feel how it pulls saturday
when I pull home my neon race car from the paint garage. Picks to come soon.

 

You're really gonna love the 6spd.... It's sooo amazing.. I have spn my truck sideways on dry pavement twice now, and the thing holds RPMs sooo amazingly. It might just be me, but my truck seems faster than the other Dak's I have been in that have the slushboxes. I mean, I shifted at 5400RPM's through til the fourth - fifth shift, and then I was at 103mph at like 3700rpms... it's sooo quick compared to my neon. The truck seems to have a little bit of understeer though I noticed, I was taking 35mph curves at like 65 - 75... might just have been the speed, but I dunno.

Really hope you love this truck!! Give er a while to get everything warmed up, I'd say about 300 - 500 miles... the whole taking it easy thing is b/s..... I'd say take it easy 70% the other 30% giver hell! She'll appreciate it. Trust me.

 

the 6 speed feels soo much dif. than my 2001 5 speed, yet it does have over 133,000 on it.well broke in. i run the 01 hard , the 06 is a lil longer,so a lil dif handle.
but im really likin this truck

 

Sounds awesome! yeah i got my 05 with a 5spd auto, worse gas mileage compared to what frenchy told me he's gettin! I put the K&N Aircharger on mine and i got about 16mpg and that was hard driving. Take good care of your new dakota and enjoy it, you're kinda lucky, cause you have two dakotas, double the fun! =D

 

Hey Jimbo, how soon did you notice the mpg difference, was it immediately after you put the air charger in or did it take a while. I put mine in and I'm still burning fuel like a madman.
