RE: Frenchy's got a plan!!
Hahaha, WELL since everyone sucks at guessing.
I am making a shorter shifter, chromed, and getting a 4 panel black and red italian leather shift boot made with opposite stitching. I wanna get a 240gram shifter ****. Black leather with red stitching. I tihnk it'll look badass.

RE: Frenchy's got a plan!!
A guy who lives about 10 miles away sells hardened steel. A guy at my local NAPA referred me to him, said he should have the stuff there to make it, and if not, he can get it for me.
I want a shifter kinda like the ones in the SRT10s.... you know, the small boot and the longer chrome shifter to a black leather ****.

Well the one in the SRT-10 is a Hurst shifter and it's a "work of art"
It'll be a little hard to duplicate it for the Dakota since the Hurst shifter goes straight down to the SRT-10 Tranny.....whereas the Dakota stock shifter is angled toward the driver.
I would think that a straight shifter might hit the dash....unless the adapter to the tranny is angled towards you already (I dunno...never looked at the Dakota stick shift)
If you wanted a straight steel looking shifter (like the Hurst) in your Dakota...it'd kind of have to look like this.....(the one from Eleanor from "Gone in 60 Seconds")
(2 different "Eleanor" pics hence the different shifters)
