The picture provided is the connector for the radio.
A link is given in this post for a service manual for the 2005 Dakota. The 2005 and 2006, as you know, are pretty much the same. I strongly suggest you download this, as it contains all kinds of information that will not be found in 3rd part (Chiltons or Haynes) manuals.
The audio wiring diagram section starts on page 8W-47-1 (page 2256 of the PDF). More information can be found on starting on page 8A-156 (697 of the PDF). The picture provided came from 8W-80-54 (2379 of the PDF).

Agreed. I have an "05" w/Infinity system. Just replaced my head unit and added an amp for the comps on the 4th. If you have the Infinity you will need an amp bypass harness. Not sure who carries them. Got mine from Crutchfields when I ordered the radio. Radio replacement was pretty easy. Hardest part was running the wires for the amp. This was my first install and now I know why shops charge $60-80/hr for shop labor! Boy do those aftermarket comps sound good on a real amp. Sounds like you have some experience so it should go pretty easy for you.

Hey Drakkon,
Do those CDT's sound good? I have heard a lot of good things about those. Can get them at woofersect.com for $139. Are they worth it? My ZR6.5's sound good on a real amp but always looking for something a little better. As i spend about 2 1/2 hours a day commuting. A nice sound makes the ride a little better.
Thanks,

They sound a little tinny - they dont have the bass that most people like their music to have, but if you have a good set of subs they balance out well. They have a long breakin period too so if you buy them give them about 2 weeks before they get their "true" sound.
All in all i really like them because they provide great highs/mids that most of my music (country :P) has and plays well.

i believe they have a metal tweet and not the silk. I will look at them again. Yea most don't. I am putting a sub in so not that big of a deal as the comps will be high passed at 80hz w/the sub taking below that. If you want some comps that put out decent bass-Alpine type R's. If you don't plan to run a sub use those on a good amp and you're in business. They cost about the same as the CDT's on line.
Thanks,
