I wired a new trailer hitch for a jon boat and now I can't shift into drive. I have read there is an override switch, but I can't find it. The owner's manual says nothing about it. Does anyone have any idea if maybe the fuse is blown, or where I can find the switch to at least get the truck to the dealership? Thanks!!

 

Never mind, I read that some have tried unhooking the negative battery cable (wait a few seconds) reconnect. This worked for the Shift issue. . .now it won't crank. It's a great day![:-]

 

Leave the batt connected, pull the pcm fuse, connect the driver seat belt, turn the key to start and hold it until you hear a chime. Replace the fuse.

The first time you try to start it will take a couple of seconds, just hold it, it will start.

Reset clock and radio stations, LOL!

If it still won't come out of park, my first guess is something where the pcm doesn't think you foot is on the brake pedal.

 

Make sure your brake lights come on too. So the computer can get the voltage signal.
