Glove Box Light
[:-] Understand its not fact of the pathetic GB is useful or NOT, because even glove wouldn’t hardly fit. The point is why not a light? If you open it at night its now even more useless and besides the factory service manual shows one as a hard-wired item complete with plunger switch. Is this only available in Candia like the daytime running lights? I be willing to bet they would leave out the license plate lights if the DOT wouldn't freak.
Look I know I’m the dude that was the major winer that was saying Tundra would had a been better choice. I WOULD dump my POS if I could and not be totally USD. YESTERDAY!
I vent because my Dak is a joke. It started with Dodge issuing a product that still should be under development and not out there for the customer to do their RD for release. Than there are the network of Dodge dealers that have a reputation of a politician.
If my Dak was well built, well thought-out, and worth the money I WOULD NOT BE WINING. This forum reads like a hospital ward full of sick Dak bodies.
Sorry this was suspose to go in somewhere else. Ah what the hell.

My only question is why didn't you see it was a "joke" before you bought it? I got that feeling instantly when I looked at the GMC caynon, now that is a joke of a "truck." I got rid of my daily beater (05 saturn vue 3.5L AWD) b/c EVERYTHING fell apart on it and it rattled like you wouldn't believe (and it had a honda driverain). The Dak is so much tighter and well built, I dont see the poor build quality. Yeah not as tight as mygerman built car, but it was almost twice as much money. I hope my Dakota doesnt have the problems "everyones" seems to have, guess if it does in a year I will get rid of it like I did the VUE. I suggest to people ALWAYS put money down to cover tax title so you arent upside down. I have been fortunate to buy my vehicles outright and work my way into great trade-in value for a dealer to get me into another vehicle. If you can advoid finiancing you can always work a decient deal. I realize not everyone may be in that position, but the key is a large down payment at least. I feel bad for you all that feel screwed by DC, guess it would feel bad to be stuck with payments on something you hate.
I suggest to all you find the CEO of DC america, this Dr Z and contact him directly, trust me it can be done. I once spoke to Brian Roberts, CEO of comcast cable, because comcast tried to screw me on something and the state reps treated me real bad. I got a year a free cable including my highspeed internet and all HD channels valued at 165/month, almost 2000 bucks. The squeeky wheel gets the grease if that is how the saying goes. Complaining on here wont get you any closer, take it directly to the top. Start a petition, and fax it over and over to the CEO until he calls you directly. I would be more than happy to lead you all on it, but I dont have a problem with them. I didnt fight GM on my saturn because a dealer bought it from me for a great price, actully more than blue book so it ended there for me. If my Dak does what you asll say yours does, if someone doesn't buy it out from me I would take it to the top.
FYI
You can have DRLs turned on thru the computer. I had my headlights modified to turn on both after lock and unlock. When the tech was using the computer I saw the option for DRLs, thought about truning mine on but I like the look of just the driving light and running lights at dusk. FYI

You mean its factory? It seems you may be the only Dak owner that may have a factory GB light. Older Daks came with one and even had a floor courtesy light under the dash on the left side. The doors had safety/courtesy lights on the panels and an under hood light that had a motions switch, all factory. Then Daimler took over and end of story.
This is just too weird. I ordered one from the dealer yesterday $12.50.
I asked why they seem to come in some but not others and they didn't even know there was a glove box light for a Dakota until I pointed it out on there parts dept. screen. It's crazy how dealers are so unaware of so many things. The light is just a small item but there is allot of stuff like that. I wonder if there was a package like the old light packages that used to optional on older Dodges. The order codes do not show any such package or optional accessory package with a glove box light. What happened to the engine (hood) light? That use to be a standard on most vehicles. What happened to the safety of the opened door courtesy lights on the door panels? The Dak is one of the few vehicles that leave them off but only starting with Gen 3.
