Default Some defects in the Clearcoat-fix yes or no?

Just bought a 06 DAK. Finally got around to waxing and learning the truck. I now know where all the defects are. I see about 5 or 6 pinhead bumps in the clearcoat in various areas. Is it worth fixing??----I know iI should of made the dealer fix them but usually you dont know about the defects until you wash and wax the vehicle yourself. Next time I buy a vehicle I may ask to wash it and dry it myself :-). "I call it learning the vehicle". ----Should I just let it go or have a body shop touch it up??

THANKS!! Stash

I have the same thing going on on my truck.

The service manager responded with, of course we can/will fix it, but you know that repainting it will NEVER be as good as the factory paint? I was like you know that independant painters can paint better with one arm and one eye closed, than the factory paint is done.

He looked at me confuzzled.

Thanks for the info. Did/Are you going to fix it??----Do you think a good bodyshop can fix it like new??-or do you think you can always tell it was repaired
Thanks

Ugh, I really don't know, I haven't gotten it fixed yet. I want to paint the whole thing.

Then bring it in and say, "But..... you said new paint will NEVER be as good as the factory."

Yes, my Dak also have these paint defects. I noticed that the tip of the pimple has a dark paint pigment to it. In any case, the last thing I need is having the dealer or their body shops touch the finish, Its just one more thing in a long list of crap that I will pay dearly for.

My Dak is only 2 weeks old. Shouldn't the dealer fix these "Defects" for free??
Thanks

Just went to my favorite bodyshop to show him the defects. I've known him for 30 years and trust him. He said that he would just knock down the defects with ultra-fine sandpaper and leave it, as long as it's smooth not raised it's ok. IF I had if fixed I have the chance of peeling after a few years and it just might be a mess. He said ALL auto's have some type of defect in the clearcoat, even Mercedes Benz auto's has them. So I just might have the dealer knock them down smooth and let it go. He also said the defect will not rust, and that's what I was worried about in the first place.

thanks Stash

When I first got my truck it had a door ding from the dealer lot they fixed it and it looks great. Then after that Iv'e had some bad luck, the gate at my community hit the truck dealer fixed it, then my wife hit a deer on the freeway, dealer also fixed that. I have no complains about how my dealer has fixed the truck, you can't tell anything has even happened. Of course all dealers are diffrent.
