Default How to disable key in ignition alert.

OK guys, I bought my 05 Dakota for working around the farm. And when I work I like to have the radio on. And when I have the radio on I like to have the doors open so I can hear the thing. But I don't whant to hear that Stupid Nanny key in the ingition alarm. How can I disable this thing. The alarm seems to be way up underneath the dash board and has one of those sounds that you cant tell where it's comming from.

Turn the key forward for one. To the on position, but don't start it.

Either do what Frenchy said (which is known as the "accessory" setting), or you can

Here's a pin-out.
Your looking for the violet and tan wire.

actually.. to switch to 'acc' u have to turn the key the oppossite direction.. towards you instead of forward.

but like frenchy said.. is it bad to do that? because their are a couple lights that go on.. i think one of them in the alternator light not sure.

As long as the engine is not running, the alternator light and low oil-pressure light should cause no alarm. Now, if lights such as the airbag or ABS/brake lights do not go on after the bulb/system test, there is a problem in that particular system.

Thanks All,
The Nanny tone works in the accessory position too, however you can have the passenger door open with the radio on with out nanny but both doors set it off.

dodgerules86; Can you tell me about where that connectory is?
