Default soft topper

i searched but i didn't find anything. i am thinking of buying a soft topper unless i hear a lot of bad things about them. i like the thought of having a topper when needed and being able to fold it out of the way when i need the bed space. besides i think the style is pretty cool, kinda like an ol' duece and a half.

If you're talking about soft tonneaus,I have a Extang Saber on my truck,it has velcro straps on the front part to roll it up if you want to use the bed,its aluminum frame and bows, roll the cover up secure it with the velcro straps, pop the 3 bows off and end piece and its ready to go less than 5 minutes,it fits pretty good,I paid around $200 for it from Truck Add ons, here's a link if you want to check it out. http://www.extang.com/docs/saber.html

Dont see them much around here. I dont haul much tall stuff and when I bought my fibreglass one, I had a trailer to carry tall stuff. Wish I would had got one though instead of the fibreglass shell. Granted they wont secure cargo from thieves, but the weather would be kept out.

But IMO, they dont look right on newer aero-style trucks. Older square styled trucks they do seem to fit look wise.

thanks for the replies so far.

etxdak, here is what we are talking about: http://www.softopper.com/gallery.html some pf the pictures are the old slanted top style, but from what i was reading, the new ones are flat with the roofline of the cab which i think looks much better.

those covers seem pretty neat. do they come in different colors to match the truck or just blk and tan? looks like a good investment if you need the truck bed. seems easier than a conventional truck cap.

just black tan and gray for now, some camo patterns coming soon but i am not too interested in those. i will probably get a tan one if i decide to buy one, a bit different than just black and looks pretty good on those white toyotas they have pictured. i also think that their rack would be good for carrying ladders and stuff on top

maybe a new group buy?
