Another lift question
Is it possible to do a 3in lift in the front and a 1in in the rear? I'm going off the other post of people leveling theirs with a 2in front lift. The reason I'm wanting to go 1in in the rear is I want to do a tire upgrade similar to the way monkywrench did for his, but personally, I think it's a little too close to the wheel well for me, especially when loaded or towing. Would the extra 1in in the rear take care of that problem or just look silly?
Funny you should bring this up... I just ordered 1" blocks for the rear. I have the 2" leveling kit up front and it sags when I tow my "big boat". Should be about a week but I will post some pics. I think the 2" level kit and 1" block might be just the ticket for a "mini lift". I don't think it will "look silly".

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't forsure if I could get 1" for the rear or not. Do you know if I can get a 3" for the front? I still want it to sit level after all is done, just want a little more clearance for the rear tire. Make sure you do the pics, I can't wait to see how that looks, and also tell me how smooth the install went. By the way, are you moving to bigger tires or just getting rid of the sag??
Thanks again!

Has anyone tried or considered the add-a-leaf system for the rear lift? I know back country sells a leaf and larger U bolts so you can just get it added to your existing leaves in the rear. It increases max load and lifts the rear about 2" at a time in the back. Its along the line of $30-$60 too. I was considering this.
I think I might try helper springs on my Dak. As opposed to add-a-leaf, they are coil springs that go between the axle and frame - about the same price as Monkey mentioned. I used them on a previous Ram I owned...unloaded the ride was quite stiff but I gained nearly 2" lift. That truck was almost always loaded and sat about stock height then.
At the time (~'02), the springs were unavailable for Dodges, so I ordered Chevy...but realy they are all pretty much the the same besides mounting hardware which can easily and very inexpesively be replaced at any hardware store.
