Default hemi powered dakota

i just wanted to know if anybody would be interested in a hemi dakota. when i get back i am thinking of opening my shop again and if the demand is there and i make it work good i am gonna start offering it as a kit like hennessey or a turn key truck. i know it is gonna be a lot of work but cause of getting partially blown up in iraq i will get my normal pay for the next 15 months and will recieve a combat bonus so i will need something to do and i want a hemi dakota.

forget the hemi, mopar came out with a small block 440, that will fit into the engine compartment with no modifications. more power for half the cost

The Hemi motors don't cost $15,000 from the factory brand new... WAY less than that actually.

The 440 sound outstanding. Small block 440? Would that be a 360 bored to the walls? The 383 and 440 where big blocks. The 340/360 and the very old 361 where small blocks. I could see this with a low profile blower to go along with a triple TB set up to take the place of the trip holly's or Carter quadrajets carbs. Sat around 400 HP factory no problem.

A Hemi-Dakota would be a cool show vehicle. There probably already is one but have you looked at a modern Hemi ? They are butt-ugly engines. Maybe the added power would be good but without the cylinder deactivation electronics, the fuel mileage sucks. A different option(and in my opinion a better one) is the currently available supercharger setup. Add 125-150 hp and probably equivilent torque ? That puts us around 400hp and retains the current electronics. If memory serves me (and it rarely does) the supercharger setup costs somewhere around $5000. Installation looks do-able by someone with good skills. I don't have the web site url today but I think I can find it next time I'm in my office.

If you go to www.dakotatrucks.com, there is a guy who was installing the 6.1 into an 05 dakota. I guess the guy has money or something. Anyway, the engine cost about $5000.00 and the installation was going to run about that to include the new computer to go with it. I'd love it if I could find a Hemi engine. That powerful engine in a medium bodied truck would just.... I'm getting shivers down my spine.
