Default Auxiliary lights

I have auxiliary lights for the back of my Dakota my near the trailer hitch. I installed it with a remote control switch. Here’s the problem. The kids play with the remote and leave the lights on and the battery goes dead. Right now I have a fusible link connected to the hot terminal of the battery. How can I wire it so that when the ignition is switched off, the light go off?

Default RE: Auxiliary lights

If you have the automatic head lights they are timed to 90 sec to shut off that could be circuit that may work and they can be turned on with the key fob. I really haven’t looked over the wire diagrams in my owner manual but the truck is also set up to turn off the interior lights (if left on) within a time period with the battery saver circuit built into the computer. Just some thoughts on this subject.
