I just took my '05 Dakota 4x4 SLT to the dealer for needed service. They informed me that the front transmission pump in my 545RFE is bad (leaking). They are fixing it under the extended AddedCare warranty. Wish me luck.
Umm, my front pump dumped in Gray I the second day on the road. Now it leaks but I don't care except for the fluid drips in the driveway. Graythang II is being picked up this week. The holidays and the DCX paperwork held up the possession of last Thursday a reality.
How common of a problem is this? I've read how Dodge says the grinding noise when going from P to D is "normal" but what about the pump? Is it a manufacture defect on all 5 speeds or just a hit and miss deal?
