Default Gibson cat-back system

To those of you who have the Gibson cat-back system, how happy are you w/ the quality? How long have you had your system installed? I was all ready to shell out for an "aluminized" system when I read reviews from customers who ALL felt that the system rusted out prematurely (within about 2 years). I have an email out to Gibsom to check on the warranty of their stainless system. On their website, the warranty info is rather vague....thanks.

I have the swept side (factory exit) catback.. I love the quality ....it all bolted up with ease. I installed it on the floor... didn't jack my truck up or nothing.. I slide under it,.. unbolted stock crap.. .bolted up gibson and was done in a hour or less.

It sounds great... not too loud.. but just enough

Ive only had it a few months... no rust yet obviously.

Gibson got back to me. Stainless system is guaranteed for life, for just about any kind of failue. "Aluminized" steel is guaranteed for everything except rust through. The company rep suggests that a system could last as long as 10 years in a dry climate however in a wet, cold, etc. climate (i.e. northeast), two yearsbefore some rust through is not uncommon.

If you're worried about rust you might as well spend the extra 150 bucks for the stainless version. I went ahead & did, figured a bran spankin new truck deserved the good stuff...
