SCARY SITUATION - NIGHT off roading
OK, so last night I decided to test out my newest mod with a friend of mine, my 4 bumper mounted Hella 500 lights, and my BFG All terrains. Well everything was going great, and I was able to go everywhere my friend in his ramm 1500 TRX4 was able to go, these tires gripped like mad. Well around 10pm or so we've been going up some trails and going through some different areas, but we found a new trail to go up. This was a very steep and very rough terrain, but we got up it with no problem. We got up, saw the next hill down and saw it was even rougher, so we decided to park my truck to the left a little to get in my friend's 4x4 and check out the terrain. When we saw the terrain at the bottom was HORRID, we headed back up to where my truck was, went to turn atround and go out. We got up, I got in my truck, started to go, and then my tires spun and my truck started going sideways down the hill. I stopped, got out, and realized we had parked my truck in LOOOOSE dirt, horrible stuff.
Now the problem was getting my truck out without getting my friend's truck in this stuff, because if he got in the dirt too, we'd really be screwed then. The dirt off the path was loose wheras the dirt on the path was nice and solid. We got the tow hooks, and we started to pull on my backend, not a good idea as my truck slipped even further down the hill. After about 30 minutes of trying to pull me out, we bent part of his hitch, bent the back of mine, and decided a different plan. Got out, prayed, then we tried the last resort. My truck right now is sitting on an angle, against a tree, and if we're pulling me out and the strap breaks, my truck is going down the hill. It was a good 15ft drop on the other side of that tree. He backed his truck down the hill next to me, came back up, hooked the tow straps to the tow hooks on his truck, wrapped them around something on my frame, (not sure what it's called). Then two friends with more experience walked up to us, we had been at a bon fire about 2 miles away and our friends came over to help. We ended up pulling with everything we had, his truck was pushed to the limit and so was mine. We got out of there in about an hour and a half, and got down the hill. Now that my truck was unstuck, we were able to go down this hill, and with my lights discover a new route to take. I had never been so glad to get on paved road, last night, was the scariest night ever. I do have to say I and my friend Nick both learned a valuable lesson: dont off road at night in places we've never been before.

that sucks man... my worst one was getting stuck in a claypit, about 12 miles outside of town. I wouldn't have that problem now, but back then I had a gmc sonoma longbed... awfull on pavement just imagine clay.
I do have a 4x2, (maybe I should mention that in my signature haha) but yeah the dirt was way too soft, which made it kind of tricky because my friend who was pulling me out, we didn't want to get his TRX4 Ram in it because we couldn't get any traction in it. My tires performed amazingly on the rest of the trail, with them I'm able to keep up with my friend and his truck, but this dirt was almost like sand, on a slope...lol
