Default New Dakota Owner

Just picked up a new 2006 Dakota Quad cab this week. So far I'm really happy with the truck.

Just wanted to know of there's anything tolook out for and how reliable these have been for you guys. I will probably trade in a few years but hopefully will get some good service from this truck.

Hey Dakota06 welcome to the forum. My Dak has almost 24000 miles on it and i've used it asa truck on back country roads, in the mud, doing 90 on the expressway, and so far i can't complain too much. Although in the beginning I had a tremendous amount of electrical problems, but the truck finally broke in just recently. Thats all im gonna say here, but feel free to ask lots of questions, and there some good knowledgeable gals and guys.

welcome to the forum. you will see good things with your truck. my 05 club cab has 32000 on it and i have been abusing it since day one. went into the shop at 30000 for a normal check up and it passed with flying colors. some trucks were just horrible from the get go. others like mine have had no recalls or major work done to them. there are tsb bullitens but i am not gonna bother . the aftermarket scene for our trucks are limited so get what you can get and enjoy.

Welcome aboard. I've had mine for two years and the worse thing I've had to do was the brakes all of the way around because of a vibration from them. That was about a month after I bought it, and I haven't had any problems since.

Enjoy your stay.

Thanks guys. I was beginning to second-guess my decision. Not a lot of positive feedback. Mine was made in 6/06 so I hope I can avoid any major issues. I almost bought the full size 1500 but it had a lot less feaures for the money and had the same motor.

I'll just pray I have a good one.

I have wanted a Dodge truck for a long time and would hate to have a bad experience. I think I have a great dealer though.
