Truxxx Level Kit
I ordered the spacers from trailmaster tonight, and I also ordered 2" shackles for the rear of the leaf springs. I dont mind the raked look and If im bringing up the front 2, might as well bring up the rear. A 2" lift is a pretty big when you add taller tires. this ran me $200 bucks for the parts. How can you beat that? We are talking 2 inches here, whether its a 4x2 or a 4x4 there shouldnt be a problem with any stock parts, at least this is what I was told by a shop here locally that has done my buddies SRT-4 suspension and wheel work.
In my opinion, the trailmaster kit is really cost effective guys. We are talking $89.95 here. I really doubt in daily driving, that the ride is going to stiffen to an anoying state. The rear shackles were $99.95, and i figured this was a better choice then the blocks. there EASY to install, and require zero modification. Once this is all said in done, hopefully in the next 2-3 weeks, I will definately post pictures.
The way I see it, with either of my two lift solutions, I'd have to be wheelin pretty hard to damage anything. And since I have a 4x2, I'm mainly on the road besides a trip or two through the lawn or drive-in.

Hey gang,
I was told the spacer above the shock mount lowers all of the suspension limiters which causes extreme angles on the axles.
The trailmaster spacer preloads the springs but all of the suspension limits stay in the same place not allowing the extreme axle angles.
The axle problem only applies to 4wd models in 4wd mode. Les Schwab would not install the above shock spacer, but they won't install the spring preload spacer either since they do not sell it.
Hey monkeywrench, let us know what you think of the ride, I thing some firmness is not a bad thing.
Thanks,
LB

I have been looking into air ride as of the last 2 days... the only bad thing is off road capability... they're plenty strong to take the abuse, but sticks and other debris can blow the bags... Airlift makes a kit for our trucks in the 1600 range. (with compressor and tank) plus you can get upto a 6inch lift or a 2 1/2 inch drop... I will find the link again and post it for reference.
Yeah taking that chance of blowing the bag while off roading wouldn't be fun. Definately monkey let us know how things turn out, you inspired me to get bigger tires on my truck
. Where did you buy the rear shackles at? I would like a little more stiffness, so after we get to see some pics of your truck I may just go ahead and boogie on down to the body shop and get mine done.

I also wanted the truxxx kit but havinga 4x4 now eliminates that...bummer.
By the way, is it me or do all the photos of the 08' model appear to have a higher front end on them?
Wonder if they changed the shocks.

I think its an optical illusion. the hood style in the front of the hood is more squarish, and I think it makes the truck look higher up. I think it's just the body style, don't think dodge would actually do something that buyers wanted! haha
