Default Tonneau Cover

I am looking into getting a Tonneau cover within the next month or so, I have decided upon getting a Pace Edwards "JackRabbit". The main reason i want it is to be able to secure items in the bed, now I understand they can also aid in Fuel Economy however whatI have read about the improvements online seems to vary greatly. Almost like it depends on the kind of truck you have. So I am wondering is how much fuel econ improvement did anyone notice when they installed a tonneau on thier truck. I have the Quad Cab 5.25 foot bed

i got a little over 1.5 mile gains with mine. it helped out alot because most of my driving is on the highway. i purchased a fiberglass one over the conventional one.

its hard to tell, i didnt try to figure it out...its minimul, but it does make your truck more aerodynamic. just like ppl that keep their tailgate down, it creates a bigger suction (when they think it will help gas milege) it actually ruins it. its minimul though, in the short run, u wont notice much if at all, but in the long haul, it will help....i like it for security and looks...get pics up once u get it. im lovin my tonneau. i have a leer 700 series

I've had my Pace Edwards "JackRabbit" cover for 2 years now. The best thing about it, is the versatility. You can go shopping to 3-4 stores and secure your purchases. You put your snowblower/mountain bikein it, by just sliding it up. The slider can lock in 3 different slots having it partically open.
Downside: They are expensive.
Just don't forget to install the popN lock on the tailgate.

I just got a soft cover tonneau cover the Extang True Black Tonneau and i didn't figure the actual mpg since I got it, it will improve your gas mileage but like nightrunner said, only in the long run really...or short run if you do alot of express way driving.... it really only helps at speeds of about 55-60 and UP..., but most likely you won't notice anything... Take lots of pics and post a gallery when you get ur tonneau.
