Ya.... those places...

Ya...

I wouldn't go with anything like that if my life depeneded on it...

How do you think they can go about giving away sponsorships? They rip off half the people interested, and then give away like 1 or 2 sponsorships...

Any place that makes you pay for a sponsorship is a scam....

Just to let y'all know.. I know.... I had a few local friends get ripped off by these type places.

Yeah carsponsorships.com is the biggest load of BS!! They are scammers to the extreme. Unless you like crappy decals and have no plans for performance upgrades they are terrible, cuz that's all youget is decals and other useless crap. No real product. And you still need to pay for it! That's not a sponsorship.

I just applied at Carsponsorships for being a scout. If I could afford the $89.00 for getting sponsored, I'd do it to make my truck look awesome and show it off. I think I'm going to check into the SpectrePerformance.com site and see what I can do. My WIFE thinks it's a good idea if we could afford it.

Save the $90 and actually go BUY something, don't give it away to them. It's a scam dude. Trust me, I was stupid a few years ago and paid the $90. They'll give you a few decals and the rest is crap that I wouldnt even PAY $90 for. It's rediculous. Get a hold of an actual company and get sponsored.

Thanks for sharing. I'm going to check in with SpectrePerformance since, as far as I can tell, they don't charge and they have some pretty good stuff.

I remember checking into one of those two sites last year and they used to charge $500.00 if I'm not mistaking.

I'm confused...I mean what do you as a non-famous/non-racer type person get out of being sponsored?

But...I'm still confused...I mean what do you actually get besides free stuff if they decide to sponsor you?...and why would they want to...what do they get in return?

It's really not that hard to understand. Very cheap marketing. Word of mouth spreads quickly. Especially on the specialized forums (like this one). Superdak gets a box of Mcquires stuff. Next thing you know, word of mouth travels that Mcquires stuff works best on Dakota's and Mcquires sells stuff to members of this forum. For the free box of stuff they sent Superdak, the may sell 10 boxes (not literally) of their stuff to people that would not have known of their product. Westin bull bars, Klings Designs, Fastman TB's, 180 T-stats, CAI's, Flowmaster, level kits, etcget thrown around here as terms daily. Word of mouth, it's that simple.
