Use a small flat head screw driver. On the edge of the plastic covers you'll see little notches. Place the screw driver in the notch and gently pry it open. When you get the plastic cover off you'll be able to access the bulb and two reading lights. You can remove the reading lights from its housing by using the flat head screw driver. You can take out the reading light bulb(or what ever it's called) with a small phillips head screw driver because it has screws holding it in. You'll see wires from the reading light going up in the Light housing. So if you figure out how to change these reading lights please post because I don't know how to remove the whole light housing.

Have you changed the glove box light yet?

No I havent tackled that yet... I have the bulb ordered for it so I was trying to prepare myself for these projects by getting to know how to do it. When they come in I will tackle it and try and type up a DIY for everyone. Even though its simple its easier with something to look at that way you know your not forgetting or breaking anything.

Ok so I have ran into a snag. The owners manual says that the trunk area has bulb type 214-2... This is not correct. 214-2 is a festoon style bulb and the bulb in that location is not that type at all. Actually it looks like the same bulb that is in the vanity lights throughout the D... What bulb is it and what bulb replaces it?

Correct...the trunk bulbs are the same size/type as the ones throughout the truck(except the visor mirror bulbs and reading lamp bulbs...obviously)

Ok so I pulled the entire light out to take a look at the reading lamps. They are a single LED installed in a round disc. To change it out you would either need to unsolder the square LED from the disc and replace it with a different color. Or find an exact matching preconstructed disc and LED Abe cut out the old one and solder it in. Secondly I got these numbers on the bulbs for the vanity lighting. 12v5w w5w 2j6. Anyone know what type of bulb this is? It's a wedge based bulb if that helps.
