Alpine Audio Components - 430N Premium
I am currently emailing Dodge and Alpine to find out what upgrades can be done to increase the quality, Bass and loudness of this system. I just traded in my 2010 Charger with that was equipped with 368 Watt (less than new current 506 Watt) Boston Acoustic amp speakers and sub and it blew away the new Alpine system, so disappointed. I want to keep my vehicle OEM but I need to do something to improve the current audio system. The bass is almost non-existant with the EQ maxed out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Heya Charger. I'm surprised there hasn't been more discussion about this, but I'm sorry that you're experiencing the same "blah-ness" I had.
I did get those Polk speakers, but never put them in. I ended up actually getting rid of the Durango a couple weeks ago and getting a 2011 F-150. I won't harp on comparing the two audio systems, but the baseline point is that Ford did things right and Dodge needs to re-think their setup. I won't dirty up the Dodge boards with Ford specs, but the Sony NAV system, speaker config, factory amp, etc. in the Ford literally sounds 10 times better than the Durango system.
Unfortunately, I think you're going to be in the same boat as I was, and if you want better quality, you'll need to go after-market.

Google "My Touch" "Ford" "Problems"... Seems like there are a lot of other Ford owners that would say Ford didn't do things right.
i can tell you that the F150 XLT stereo is junk. that much i know from having two of them in the past year. base vs base, the D blows them away. we have (at work) a new Edge limited with the My Ford Touch and that stereo is OK, still not as good as the D stereo (and no, i'm not saying the alpine is great, it's adequate though, like the Edge's).
