Red face Have a laugh at my expense !!! Re Uconnect

Hi All,

THis merited its own thread.

Today I found out why Uconnect was not pairing with my Nokia E72.....

While trying for the upteenth time, my daughter, next to me in the car made a sound when the system asked for confirmation of the pin number. Mis interpreting the command the system told me there are two possible responses "Yes and No".......

Then the light went on in my head, scaring the other neurons in the bright realisation that I has been responding... "Correct" an old Royal Navy response similar to "Affirmative"....

WHAT AN IDIOT I AM!

The next attempt, responding Yes instead of Correct worked like a dream...

Uconnect therefore says pairing failed if you respond "Correct" but does not mis interpret the response enough to correct via the verbal help function.....

I hope this helps somebody else in the same situation.

I certainly had a good laugh at that, I really am not sure that machines are ready to rule the world quite yet! But there again nor am I....

Beware of Skynet! its just around the corner....lol

I found out on Uconnect as far using with the phone function it sometimes does stumbles, one time dialed calling all the numbers and didn't accurately put the numbers what I have said but other than the phone function it was perfect on the music/radio function.

Sounds like the KISS principle worked.

Can't beat "Yes/No" I guess. Was that not documented in the manual at all?!?

sidewinder, "Skynet" ROTFLMAO.
