Default HD Song Information

When I put a CD in the radio, it reads the information (I presume from the CD) and puts the album cover artwork on the display. When I rip songs to put on the HD, the album cover artwork comes up during the rip process (presumably from the internet database), but then once the songs are transferred to the HD, the album artwork is missing. Is this pretty standard behavior, or did I do something wrong?

Thanks.

I have the same problem... I know that the artwork is in the folder where I transferred the music from but it will no show... I am wondering if you have to embed it in the song... Only problem is I thought I had on that was embedded and it doesn't show either... Haven't had much time to mess with it to figure it out.

The only thing I can think of is that the PC is getting it from Gracenote, and that is just not transferred with the song. And maybe the information on the CD is not transferred with it? Then again, this seems to work on an ipod.

Looking more carefully at the system, it has a version of Gracenote on the hard drive (BA1 -- what ever that is). So if that's the case then songs on the HD should be recognized and matched with Gracenote information in the car, and the album art should be displayed. Maybe someone will know how to fix this.
