New Citadel
Got a new Citadel AWD V6 today. Silver/Black interior. It's a family car replacing an '04 Pilot. Very nice ride. Love most of the gadgets. I will only drive it 10% of the time.
I have the 730 head unit. My comment on the UConnect is the simple fact I cannot access the iPhone phonebook...everything has to be via Voice Command. If this is the case, it's ridiculous. Voice Command is not reliable and I do not see the safety advantage.
Same for music...Track 01, Track 02...is this only way?
Please tell me I'm wrong.

Yes. V6. Loved driving the Hemi but not necessary for kiddie transport.
Last two family cars were white with gray interior. The Mrs. was ready for a change.*We had an '04 Honda Pilot...a flawless vehicle. The black interior is slick and the silver keeps it understated without being bland.
We drove a lot of vehicles the past few weeks: Armada, a used Q7, Pathfinder, Explorer, etc. Hoping we have a winner with the Durango.

+1 on the color choices. Silver on the outside and black on the inside is a good combo. They show the least dirt and wear in most conditions.
Someone else I know has the same/similar combo

What did you think of the new Explorer compared with the new Durango?
Explorer was our second choice. Great ride, great handling due to being on the Taurus platform. My wife liked the Durango better than the Ford. I was scared about some first-year bugs/issues on the Explorer I've read on some forums.
The interior setup and layout on the Explorer is really good. My wife felt the Durango felt more solid and rugged and I agree. The Explorer was more nimble.
I've read good and bad about Ford's MySync. The UConnect is good but both UConnect and MySync need some UI tweaks and some polish. I put a Pioneer AVIC-D3 in my VW 4 years back and parts of the Pioneer UI are superior to either the Ford or Dodge units. Even the newer VWs have really good OEM units.
Overall, I am impressed by the Durango. It's a huge step forward. Hoping it gives us the reliability of our Honda.
