Aw Hell!!!
So I go over to my mom's on Thursday to take her shopping, banking, etc. as is customary anymore since she got cancer (although she's been in remission a little over a year now). We always take her '10 Journey and it's about the only time the thing moves. Bought it in September of '09 and the thing just turned 5000 miles.
So what does she see in the parking lot at the Post Office? A damn brand-spankin' new Durango Citidel and she fell in love with the thing! Asked me about 40 questions about it.
Now she traded a '08 Grand Caravan in on the Journey with all of 14,000 miles on the thing and we (I say we because I helped her financially) lost our a$$es on that deal. But I went along with it because the GC was purchased after my step dad had a massive stroke and she needed a vehicle with wheel chair access. He had just passed away and the GC was too big for her. She didn't drive it well. So I couldn't really argue with wanting to trade it on the Journey.
With only 5k on the Journey, she (or shall I say I?) is gonna lose big time on a Durango purchase!
I did hold her off for a while though, using the old "never buy a vehicle in it's first year" line. Yeah, I know the Durango has been around, but not in it's current form.
But I gotta admit, the thing looked SWEET!!!

I agree on the 1st Model year issue/rule.
With that said, the release of the new JGC/Durango has been the least warranty issue vehicle on initial released Chrysler vehicle ever.
Using the no 1st model year rule, that should make the 2nd and 3rd year releases fantastic.
