Default Cabin Air filter.

So how do you replace the Cabin Air filter. Where is it?

Most likely behind your glove box, there should be a screw that holds the glove box shock, unscrew and the box should come down and out. You may have to play with it a bit to get it to come, take everything out before you start, makes it a little less cluttered.

I checked an the 2011 Durango doesn't have a visible glove box shock, there is a string on the side.

on the 1998 durango you just squish the glove box, and it pops down, the 2011 glove box isn't flexible (which is a good thing).

I can pop off the retaining string on the right side, but there are tabs inside.

I should just sign up for access to the documentation site, and just download all the service manual for the truck.

Thats weird, cuz the maintenance schedule shows a cabin air filter to be replaced once a year.

Is it accessible from under the glovebox when it's closed. I promise the air filter is always behind the glovebox, there's no other accessible area it could be for it to work with the system.

I haven't looked at my Durango, but in my HEMI Charger the cabin air filter is accessible under the hood near the passenger side firewall. There is a plastic grill that pops off and the filter box is underneath.

Will check later and report.

I'll ask my service rep if they can tell me where the cabin filter is.

The owners manual doesn't mention where the battery is either (I guess it's under the front passenger seat). So who freaking knows.

Battery is under the drivers seat in a compartment... The cabin air filter is behind the glove box and behind a a latched doorway.... I saw it when I was in there looking for my uConnect module. The glovebox is very hard to remove but it is the same concept as the rest. Just press the sides in and pop it out. You wont be able to do both sides at the same time so release one and then the other.
