Unhappy Spoiler Problem on 2011 Durango

I noticed the spoiler under where the center brake light is, the plastic appeared to warp and bulge out. I took vehicle to dealer and they said first time they have seen this and ordered a replacement spoiler and put it on vehicle a month ago. I noticed today the new spoiler is doing the same exact warping. Has anyone else seen this occur?

Negative on my Durango, no warping or bulging out.

NY,

I could find no TSB's on this issue and I have never heard of this before either. If you can post some pics I would like to take a look as well.

Negative here too.

To have it happen on 2 of them would make me think something else is causing it.

I agree that pictures will help but it is difficult to see in the picture. The best I can describe this for you to look at the center and if you notice the bottom plastic is bowed out from the straight line of the brake light. The original spoiler was much worse than this but this new spoiler is starting to bow out. When it was first replaced it was perfect.

If a power wire to or in the brake light had been damaged during assembly that broke some of the strands inside but not all, causing for example an 18 gauge wire to become a 22 gauge wire for a few millimeters that section of wire can heat up pretty quick. I suppose you could have someone hold the brake pedal while you feel the spoiler to see if it is heating up.

I won't say there is absolutely nothing wrong, but your picture sure looks fine to me...

I like the heating up idea, but since you've had it replaced once that's not likely. Now it's only plastic -- not an I-beam -- so it's not going to stay completely flat under any circumstances.
