New Dodge Owner
Hey guys, pretty much a new member here as this is my first post (hope it's in the right spot) but I'm excited to be here...seems like a great Dodge community. Wife and I just purchased our first new vehicle and decided to go with the 2011 Durango (found it to sexy to turn down
). It's only the Express RWD model, but hey it's still a Durango. The best part about it is that it's coming overseas straight from the factory so it has maybe 10 miles on it. I'm excited to have this vehicle and can't wait to finally own my first Dodge. I look forward to kicking it with ya'll and getting some advice / assistance.

Welcome! Congrats to you and your wife on your new purchase! My wife and I are also first time Dodge owners, first American car for that matter. We like the Durango a lot and fall in love with it more and more everyday. Express on up to the R/T or Citadel, this a Dodge and 3rd gen Durango forum so all the same family as you said.
I'm sure you get just as many looks as the others - there still aren't that many 2011 Durangos out there (though I'm seeing more everyday). Love seeing new owners Ds in my area tho it makes me want to customize mine that much more to set it apart
Have fun!

Welcome. What are you going to have to do to get the D past inspection? These cars don't come out of the factory Euro-spec so how are you handling the rear fog light/amber turn signal issue? Or do you get a pass for being military or something.
Being military, the vehicle gets inspected by military contractors and can remain US specs (thank god). The only time anyone has to convert a vehicle is if I had bought a vehicle from here (like a BMW) and ship it back to the states, then I'd have to convert it to US specs. So as is, I get to drive it straight off the lot when it gets here. Now technically you're not supposed to use fog lights here (I think) but no one really says anything about that.

Yeah I bought it with Exchange New Car Sales...got an awesome $3500 chrysler rebate as well as a Green tag sale where they matched my down payment up to $1500. As far as the AWD, they only had one more left in stock and it wasn't the color we wanted (if they had it in Charcoal we'd have gotten it). Where I'm stationed at in Germany the winters aren't so bad and I have plenty of experience driving a RWD plus I'll be back state side next year.
