Default Intermittent passenger door lock issues.

Hello,

I have a 2011 Durango R/T and have issues with the passenger side door lock.

1. Sometimes won't lock when door is closed and door lock button is pressed on key even though all other doors lock.

2. Sometimes won't unlock when all doors are unlocked from driver side door unlock button even though all other doors unlock. Pressing unlock/lock multiple times has no effect.

Sometimes it works fine, sometimes I see the problems above. I've looked for patterns of behavior but so far can't reproduce the issue at will so I can clearly demonstrate it to the dealer.

I have taken the vehicle in twice now for this issue.
They replaced the passenger door solenoid on the first visit and then a control module (don't recall the exact name) on the second visit.

I still have the issue.

Obviously the dealer doesn't know what's wrong and I am not happy about returning for a third service visit.

Has anyone else experienced similar door locking issues?

This is my first Dodge and so far I am not impressed with the quality of service, but that's another thread.

Thanks for any help.

-Randy

It sounds like its the lock actuator is going out. I've had several other cars do this, but not on a new car. When they began to go out it would lock and unlock randomly and acted just as you stated. I would have them check that out. Typically those small electronic parts are very cheap and break easily, but they are hard as hell to get too to replace.

Thanks !

They did replace a solenoid, hopefully they would have checked the whole lock mechanism while they were in there.
