Default Might be purchasing soon please advise...

We want to get rid of our Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and get into a 2011 or 2012 Durango RT with the 5.7 hemi.

We want the RWD ( no reason for AWD and the other expensive stuff that comes with owning AWD).

We want:
nav entry group with back up cameras and nav.
Tow package
and leather package.

What is the main difference between the 430 N and 730 radio?

Does the tow package come with a different transmission cooler?

What should we watch for on test drive?

Thanks.

Hey, I think you must have read by now there are major issues with the Durango RT. Hold off big time! They have a major shaking issue. If they can fix that I would suggest one but believe me you will hate driving a beautiful truck built for driving that shakes once you get it up to 60.

Sometimes its good to go the source.

Yes the tow package comes with several additions, but these are all questions that a dealer can answer exactly for every car you test drive.

And assuming you have already purchased a car before your third question is funny.

I wouldn't say don't get an R/T. Mine doesn't shake. Watch for a shaking wheel on your test drive. If it doesn't shake then it's all good!

Well I have learned that what a dealership says and what is true are two different things. I have had one salesman say oh we can had the tow package. I said really.... you know it includes a different rear bumper, 7/4pin wire connector, i think a trans cooler... and she was like uh let me get back to you.

The 3rd questions was for current owners.. the people who have gotten to know the vehicle. Example the shaking. Get your head out of your butt.

Hey Boosted, good to hear your having luck. Mine didnt shake on the test or I wouldnt have bought it but it started soon after and there are a lot of guys having the same issue as me. There is a pattern of this problem in RT's if you read a few threads on here you'll see its way more than tires out of balance. I hope Dodge can figure out what is going on or this truck is going back which is something I dont want to have happen because I love it other than the shake.

Is it only in AWD or RWD models or both? I see some people complaining about rattles too. This is dissapointing because this is such a good look vehicle.

Are the shakes only been specific to the R/T model? I have the Citadel and have put in 5k + miles so far no steering shake issue, dealership have rotated my tires also.

I hear it on both RWD and AWD but mostly on RT's. One guy told me he even drove a V6 Crew and experienced the same problem. The shake is annoying man, and it is not a balancing thing. Ive been down that road more than once. I agree, its to bad cuz the truck is bad looking and other than the shake it drives nice but I cant stand to get in it anymore. Stay away until they find out what the problem is.

Mine doesn't shake either.......I'm crossing my fingers that it never does. I have about 2400 miles on it so far. I have no real complaints as of yet other than I want it to be a bit quicker. One thing I'm worried about is it's performance in snow. I do have the AWD but it has the 3-season tires so I might slip and slide more than I want......I'll have to wait for the first snow in the KC area to find out.
