Default Dodge badge on front grill

I will be removing the rear badges on my black R/T and read some discussions about what to do with the front Dodge badge. I just painted mine black with Plasti Dip. It is drying, so I will post photos after I put it back on. I think it will look good, better than leaving it off, where it would be clear something was supposed to go there.

Yeah thats what I'm going to be doing but last time i painted a chrome piece on my Audi after a while it started to chip and you could see the chrome underneath. I sanded the hell out of it too, used primer and then paint. didn't help. Maybe i used the wrong paint....

Plasti Dip is supposed to work well. This is my first try with it. We'll see.

Ill have to go pick up a can, its a shame that ill have to waist a whole can on just that little front emblem. Maybe ill try to take that chrome trim out from inside the D and see if i can spray that too.

If you know how to take that trim out it would be great to know.

I went out a picked up a can at my local Ace Hardware (less then 8 bucks) and I have started spraying. Did 2 coats so far and will do maybe another 2-3 coats.

Ill post pictures in the morning when I put the emblem back on.

Ok so this is what it looks like when the chrome dodge emblem is painted black.

Yep, mine look exactly the same. I'm wondering if it might look better with a little deeper black, maybe a semi-gloss. I'd think the Plasti Dip would work well as a primer?
