I know there are many variables determining monthly payments. So let's include monies down and so forth to get where you got.

I think you are asking a question like, "How much money do you make?". Just not a lot of people interested in putting it out there.

The issue with this thread is that NOBODY should be purchasing a vehicle by what they can pay monthly. Yes you should have a monthly payment in mind that will fit your budget, but if you walk into a dealer and say "I can pay $XXX.XX per month" they are going to take you to the cleaners (if you finance through them and let them). They can put you in a 1984 Colt for 100 bucks a month at 23% Interest for 60 months, with a purchase price of $4,000.00. Your total cost of that car for $4,000.00 in auto financing at 23.00% for 60 months is $7,171.80, but hey all you cared about was that $100.00 bucks a month. I said that to say this. To ask what people are paying is useless and means nothing. All these are based on the same out the door price of $40,000.00.

Vehicle- $40,000.00
Down Payment- $0
Loan Term- 72 Months
Interest- 2.99%
Monthly Payment- $608.00

Guy #2
Vehicle- $40,000.00
Down Payment- $0
Loan Term- 61 Months
Interest- 2.99%
Monthly Payment- $708.00

Guy #3
Vehicle- $40,000.00
Down Payment- $0
Loan Term- 36 Months
Interest-1.79%
Monthly Payment- $1,142.00

Guy #4
Vehicle- $40,000.00
Down Payment- $15,000.00
Loan Term- 36 Months
Interest- 1.79%
Monthly Payment- $714.000

There are 4 different cases, but the variables are countless between down payment, loan term, and interest. You would be much better off looking at the "how much did you pay" thread, see what out the door prices are. Take a good look at your finances, credit score, money down, life of the loan and decide how much YOU can afford monthly. Do your research and make the dealer work for you, at your pace and to the tune of your song. Then quickly post pictures of your new R/T and enjoy the crap out of it!

I think you are taking this thread to seriously. The point of this thread was not to offend others but to see wat others are paying for their R/T's per month. Sure tons of variables play a factor in final payment. That wasnt the point here. If you wanted to chime in and post what you are paying great, if not no big deal. Some people like to see what others are paying monthly for their vehicles and how they got to their payments . I have seen this type of thread on many other forums. I use these forums for pre and post research on vehicles that I purchase and drive. The more info available the better in my opinion

It's really a cash flow decision. Cash or finance or a combo of that will work. Interest are low so you can't go wrong. Me? I used my trade for down payment and financed the rest. I can invest the amount used for balance and come out ahead.

But whatever you choose, don't buy or lease more than you can afford. Common sense rules.
