Default Staples on Rear Bumper?

While cleaning the D, I noticed a single staple on the bumper directly above the passenger side exhaust tip. Its tucked back and can't be seen unless you're looking for it. WTF? (Whats it There For) Its not holding anything together.

I recall another member with an R/T a while back mentioning a few staples in the same area. Anyone else have random staples from the factory?

I believe they are used to hold the protective cover on while in transport. The dealer should have removed them all.

Heat,

Most likely from holding the protective wrap on from factory to dealership. I agree with the other poster in that they should have been removed when wrapping was taken off. Sometimes they miss a couple if they are not looking close enough.

The protective wrap is much appreciated so I can expect to pick up a blemish free car. It makes no sense however to staple it to a brand new body even if it may be hidden. Still puzzles me what the factory/dealers will do to a 40K+ vehicle. Between the factory stapling a newly painted body to the dealer drilling six holes in the front bumper to put a plate holder??? Craziness!
