Thanks i really hope you're right, the sound has to come very much deeper and louder than yet - Now I've Tweety under my D...
But it's really a shame for Borla, that the flanges does not exact fit and the tips are shoddy polished - for that high price and after 4 weeks delivery delay.

Well, I'll give the Borla some time to become a better sound if not Borla has to go and never come back on any of my cars.

PS: Volant CAI and BT Catch Can is still on my to do list ;-)

You need to add a intake to to open it up. My Borla sounds great! The intake is your missing element.

You're right, the intake support the sound from the Car but the exhaust should sound better anyway.
Maybe there are some differences in production - your system fit and sound well, mine does not fit properly and sounds crappy.
But should that be?

Well I'll give the time a chance as MrSnowflake has written a few posts before and install the Volant CAI for support.
If that doesn't help I'll use another exhaust vendor and kick the Borla system to the moon.

Sounds like something a vendor would say. Intakes don't change the sound of your exhaust. I've had about 7 different intakes on my SRT8 Charger so I should know.

That's funny because I've had had NA V8's and forced induction and they DEFINITELY change the sound of your exhaust. What do I have to gain by offering advice?

If you open your mouth when you fart does it sound different ? :-)

I know you are just giving advice but in my opinion buying a $300 intake to change your exhaust note is just throwing good money after bad (in the case of the guy who didn't like the Borla sound)

Yeah but why wouldn't you buy an intake to go with an aftermarket exhaust. The two compliment each other.

Well i think you both are right.
Intakes don't change the sound from the exhaust, it's the combination from the blowing exhaust and the louder intake sound that makes the car louder in summery.

Anyway the sound is maybe a question of taste - some guys discuss this in another tread about muffler delete kits - for me it was to loud especially inside the car others love the sound.

But that the fitment from the Borla system isn't well and the tips are shoddy polished is a absolutely "no go" for a system in this price range.
Maybe I'm a little bit sensitive because I paid a lot of money to import the system to Switzerland (around $800 shipment, customs and tax).

I'll add the Volant CAI as soon I'll have it, then I let you know what's happen...

My Borla has sounded great from the first startup, has a perfect fit and highly polished tips (actually, the entire system is highly polished). It is much deeper and plenty louder than the stock R/T and seems a perfect rumble for a family SUV. (My little Solstice takes care of my big/loud throaty exhaust needs). Maybe you got a lemon.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, maybe you got a dud system? Any pics to see?
