Forward Collision Warning sensor cover
Hello fellow Durango owners. Been reading from this forum for some time now and learned a lot of info's. Thought just like to share what I've done to my FCWS. I use a flexinglass as a cover and use double sided tape to mount it. So far, the sensor had not experience any problem with a cover. It still warns me to slow down when I get to close or someone cuts me off.

California freeways doesn't look like what it use to be ten years ago and I would hate myself spending two grand to replaced it if it gets hit and breaks. Wash the D several times now and I only have to take it off once just to wipe the sensor clean besides I still have the remaining of the tape.
The cover of the sensor (not the sensor itself) is plastic. And it's so low and has such a small profile, that the likelihood of it getting hit by anything is incredibly minuscule. Your windshield (big and higher up) is what's going to get hit. A rock hitting your hood is likely to do more damage and cost more to paint than that plastic cap (under which is the actual sensor). Also that cap is convex making it even less likely that anything could damage it without a direct hit at the center by a large stone coming straight at it -- at 10 inches off the ground. I'll put my money on hitting the lottery.
