flowmaster kit just showed up
at the moment the passenger side sits a bit higher but not sure once i get the other hanger on it might get a bit closer but not too concerned about it since i'm going to get the 5'' tips welded on this week. Hopefully they get everything dialed in!!
Just put mine in today. Luckily I have a muffler guy for a friend and he heated up and bent the passenger side muffler hanger and it sits right.
Surprisingly mellow and quiet inside. Low tone even and full throttle on the interior. Some drone at 80 MPH/2000 rpm. I usually don't drive that fast though.
18.3 lbs. lighter than stock system.

I think I'm done with mods unless you buy something else :-)
Seriously, I can't see doing anything else to it unless tuning becomes available, although ... a 3400 stall converter would make this pig launch a lot better

My belief in snake oil only goes so far. With the CAI I at least have something cool to look at under the hood. The exhaust was mainly for sound and a little weigh reduction and 2 HP wouldn't hurt :-) A ported throttle body neither looks cool nor sounds better and won't do much if anything for performance.
I had a ported 85mm on my heads/cam/longtubes SRT8 Charger which I raced and dynoed all the time. It didn't do anything. A 92 mm throttle body made slightly more power up top and less down low. It also had drivability issues which required tuning.
I really think a 3400 stall converter would give the D a kick in the pants like no other bolt on. I assume our trannies take the same converters a NAG1 would.

I can almost guarantee a higher stall converter would wake up the D. You can feel how it is asleep until it hits 4000 rpms. If it stalled up to 3500 rpms it would be right at the beginning of the power.
Problem is it would probably create more transmission heat and since it is a heavy truck maybe more wear and tear on drivetrain due to the shock of quickly accelerating such a heavy vehicle from low speeds.
I have an '07 Charger with a 6.1L that launched like crap until I got a 3600 stall converter. Boy did it ever wake up. I thought the street manners weren't bad either.
If you are serious about trying one I'd hit up Bill at Paramount Performance Products. He specializes in Dodge/Chrysler drivetrain parts. He would probably be able to tell you if your version of the tranny would accept a standard NAG1 torque converter. I bet it would.
The great thing about this would be that no tuning would be necessary and it would fix that sluggish behavior from low speeds.
I don't think I'll go this route though as mine is a daily driver and I have a race car that I spend on my $$$ on.
I'll bring the D to the track sometime this fall and see what she does. I do believe the converter would make a big difference.
For those who recommend a gear swap, in my experience with swapping gears and coverters in my Charger I believe a converter would make a much bigger difference without killing your mileage like high numerical gears would.
