Someone posted on another forum

"I finished sprucing up the R/T alittle bit.

Added an AirAid filter box, had the resonators replaced with some Gibson shorty mufflers, added T-Rex overlay grills, had the factory amp "helped" with a 700 amp JL Audio amp installed, replaced the factory sub with a JBL unit with a separate bass volume **** installed on the console and had a CleanSweep audio mixer installed. Also replaced the 4 door speakers with Infinity Reference speakers.

Had the front side windows tinted and had a dark tint strip along the top of the windshield added.

The D sounds awesome inside and outside and I can't believe how much quicker it is. At 55 mph I'm showing 27 mpg----problem is I can't keep my foot out of it so my mileage is normally ALOT lower than that!!! Couldn't believe how restrictive the factory resonators are-feels like I added another piston or two !!!"

Almost forgot-changed to Royal Purple engine oil and a K&N oil filter."

Not to bad, is that full city driving?

Pretty much city driving. If I get on the highway its only for a few miles here and there. My drive to work involves stretches of 45 and 55 mph speed limits for a few miles, which is probably why its at 16 mpg. And I'm easy on the pedal for the most part.

Default 2012 Durango Citadel with V8

I have had a 2012 Citadel model with the V8 for about two months now. I live in Colorado and commute about 32 miles a day each way to work. My commute route is about evently divided between interstate, highway with some stops, and city driving. We've also taken three long trips (200+ miles) into the mountains. I'm averaging between 15.6 and 19.7 MPG with the average around 17/18. The low numbers are for a lot of city driving or...when my wife drives. To say she has a lead foot is something of an understatement. I would like to note that there is about a 2,000foot elevation gain on my commute. Overall, I'm impressed as my 1996 V6 Jeep Grand Cherokee got between 16 and 18 on average for the commute and less in the mountains.

I'm pretty happy with the vehicle. I'll report on towing fuel usage here soon as I'm breaking out the motorcycles and will be hauling them and gear around for rides with my wife.

Living in Canada, I am play the equivalent of ~ $5.50/gallon. Never bought a vehicle for mileage, and won't likely change anytime soon. If I wanted to go all green, I'd buy a sell the kids off (well, if they were younger. Now they are out of the house, I'd sell my toys and dogs), buy a Smartcar, stop eating beef (largest producer of methane) and ride a bicycle 60km/day to work and back.

Just buy the car you want and drive it!
