Impressed With V6 Towing
I hooked up a steel car hauler today, with my 3600lb GTO loaded up, and was impressed with how it handled it. All together, I'd say it's about 5800lbs or so. I'll definitely invest in a distribution hitch to level out the ride, but all in all, it did very well.
I borrowed the trailer from a friend, as I try to decide between aluminum or steel, and I've pretty much decided on aluminum. It wasn't so bad towing this around, but after I add additional tires, tools, jack, etc ... I think I'll be better off with the aluminum.

Thanks guys, I'll be going on a 2hr trip soon with the GTO in tow, so yesterday was just a test to be sure everything is in line and ready to go.
The GTO is a great street car, and happens to be pulling track duty right now until we get the dedicated track car next year. If you Google my username, you'll find a few videos of the GTO on the road course

When we had our D just a few weeks, my wife was walking out of a 7-11, and overheard somebody talking that our D could pull a ford explorer backwards.
Those are good commercials when people rememeber and make comments like that.
