No, it depends on the brand. I bought a Purolator filter from Advance for $14. I have not seen a charcoal filter yet.

Seems easy, but what does the dealer charge to replace this filter?

Why does every filter guide I find show that the 3G Durango has no cabin filter? This is frustrating!

Amazon says it has a charcoal replacement. Can anyone that replaced theirs verify the filter has charcoal in their?

It should be easy to tell the difference between a plain all white filter vs a charcoal that has black charcoal in its media.

That's the one I have in mine. It is indeed charcoal. You can tell by the gray appearance and the 'smell'

I live in a pretty good sized city........and I found exactly ONE parts store that had a filter in stock. Ridiculous.

couple comments, all the cabin filters should be charcoal. they will look 'dirty' when you take them out of the box. like a filter that has been in way too long and needs replaced. that's the charcoal. its gives the filter a grayish or 'dirty' look to it.

also, when you put the filter back in, make extra sure to get the cover firmly and securely in place. a only slightly gaping cover can cause a 'whistle' in the air flow when Recirc is turned off and the fan speed is med - high.
