Default Tow/Haul button

After reading in the manual about the tow / haul button and how it forces the tranny to drop down one gear from the normal set point I decided to give it a try as a "sport" mode button. I could certainly notice a difference.

My question is has anyone else tried this and is there any detrement to the vehicle if I were to use this frequently?

Thanks!

CMil,

I have not read anything about specific damage that would be done if operating in this manner. Most likely your MPG's would be affected negatively though.

Thanx man I wouldn't think it would cause an issue either its basically like driving a car with a selectable overdrive.

After my first oil change I'm going to explore the use of this mode more as I don't like how eager the D is go upshift and the Tow/Haul button mitigates this issue.

I just got a 2012 Citadel Hemi, and traded in a 07 Cherokee SRT8 so there was some sport withdrawl for me. I find myself using TOWMODE alot to give a little more aggressive shifting when you need to make time in traffic. It especially helps if you like to use the gears to control speed in certain scenarios. I'm so used to using the gears on my old SRT8 that i find myself using towmode and top gear limit on the D to get a close effect to what I was used to. When I want to "chill" driving or save gas, towmode off, and no top gear limit. The D does come more alive when you tame the gears via TOW mode and gear selection.
