I tried to install the red stitched **** and it seems it does not slide all the way down the shaft like the original does. I pushed it down as far as it will go and slid up the chrome ring and the entire **** just lifts off the shaft. It doesn't lock onto it like the original. Is there something I'm missing here?

it doesn't lock in place like the other but mine pushed snuggly in place and hasn't budged a bit!

It just doesn't have the retainer clip the oem unit has beyond that it is a direct fit!

Had the same problem with the shift ****. It is not an exact fit. Maybe the shaft is thicker on a 2011 but it does not fit snug on the 2012. Basically bought a paper weight.

Mine fits fine I took a dead blow hammer and gave it a couple of taps. Nice and snug.
