Engine Cover Paint Project - COMPLETED!!!
Interesting you guys mention that. After putting everything back on, I noticed the lack of red inside the engine compartment. The Volant airbox is definitely part of the plan now, just need to figure out how to segment it to get the proper blend of red and black in the mix!
Here's a quick idea that just came to mind so that I can keep the level of red at a conservative level with a good mix of black as well.
Have JNL Hydrographics coat the air tube, minus the raised Volant lettering, in their red carbon material. Then scuff and paint the Volant lettering on the air tube. On the air box itself, keep all of it black, save for the very top. The top, I would mask off the raised bars (those raised sections surrounding the Volant placard), paint the top in redline pearl, then paint the raised bars with the same gloss black finish as the Volant lettering on the air tube. I wish I knew how to use Photoshop really well so I could mock up a design approach and get some more insight on how it would look.

Oh, my shark fin is finally on its way...woo hoo!
Yes it is indeed. However, I promised myself some upgrades to the command center this upcoming month so that's where I will be investing. By command center I mean my gaming PC, NAS, Intrusion Detection System, and BackTrack rig. Need to keep my technical skills honed and upgrades are overdue. So, after the steering wheel, shark fin, and shift **** are done, that's it for the month. July will spur on the next round of goodies...most likely lighting related!
