Default Wheel issues...maybe?

So, I've been going back and forth between our dealer and the local Goodyear corporate shop on vibrations we get going down the highway (65+) on our 2011 Citadel AWD. I'm at the point where the dealer is stating the wheels are okay and the tires (Goodyear Fortera HL) are junk and the Goodyear shop is stating the wheels are out of round/spec. The wheels/tires have been balanced six times now in the last six months. We are at 11K miles.

I'll preface this by saying that I am NOT a fan of Goodyear tires. However, they did come on the car and are okay on the road (not great, just okay).

Yesterday, the dealer unmounted the tires and measured the runout on the rims (supposedly using the fingerplates as they should to mount the rims to the balancer).

The numbers look like this (rims only):
Left Front: Lateral runout 0.004", Radial runout 0.004"
Right Front: Lateral runout 0.008", Radial runout 0.007"
Left Rear: Lateral runout 0.007", Radial runout 0.003"
Right Rear: Lateral runout 0.003", Radial runout 0.005"

When they mounted the tires back onto the wheels, the assemblies showed a pass, but the vibes are still there on the highway.

I'm about at my wits end on this...I'm stuck in the middle and if money allowed, I'd get new rims/tires and just eliminate the problem completely. Sadly, that is not an option right now. Any second/third/fourth opinions are welcome!!!

Thanks!

All I can add is on two occasions in my driving years (20+) I've had issues with Goodyear tires being "out of round" as they term it, causing horrible vibration. Keep at them man I had sets replaced due to this and hours of arguing! Good luck!

Although I do not have a Dodge manual (specs.) in front of me.....I see no issue with the wheels, seven to eight thousands is well below specs. for wheel run out. Common thread seems to be about .030" is the limit. I'm guessing tire issue. Good luck !

I've got the Kuhmo's on my RT which I just picked up from a road force balance and its still got the shakes. I could still be a tire issue but it's not limited to Goodyears.

Prior to having my 2012 Citadel I had a 07 Cherokee SRT8. The Cherokee was purchased new and developed the exact same problem you are describing at 17k miles. I went through all the same BS you are with about 15 dealer visits, about 16 tires swapped, road force balanced a dozen times, new drive shafts front and rear, MANY alignments, and nobody could solve my problem and always blamed the tires in the end. The vibration would drive you nuts on the highway anywhere near 70. Turns out many other SRT owners had the issue too and Chyrsyler never owned up to it. The community finally figured out the cause without Chryslers help and it turned out to be the lower control arms which have a bushing that's not changeable. it required new lower control arms. It took two years of trial and error and frustration to figure it out. Lemon came and went during that time which sucked. Popped the new arms in and it drove like it was brand new again. Hopefully this might help you because I truly understand your frustration.

Here's my original thread that you may want to read. I'm sure you can relate.
