I sold my G8 GT and my Mitsubishi Montero so I could consolidate to one vehicle......I chose the Durango R/T. i, too, wish the Durango was as quick as the G8 accelerating, but the ride in the D seems better and the interior amenities are better as well. If the G8 was AWD, I probably never would have changed. I like my R/T but crave a bit more acceleration for the driving thrill factor. Someday I may just get a Jeep GC SRT8?.......but not for a while.

Never did a G8, but they are nice cars. My other vehicle of choice is a convertible 2004 Cobra based Saleen. It has a host of go fast goodies topped off with a Kenny Bell 2.8H supercharger that puts down 570 at the wheels on a very mild tune.

It is a great car but I wouldn't want to drive it on a daily basis. My D is a much more comfortable drive. I'm anxious to see what the tuners come up with for the Hemi in it. I know there is more in there and frankly I think it could use it. The challenge is going to be dynoing it with AWD. Don't see how to shut it off and my tuner doesn't have a 4-wheel dyno. Don't get me wrong, I like it, but it isn't as quick as I'd like it to be. My wife wants me to leave it alone. She says I need to decide which vehicle is going to be the fun money pit. I say the more the marrier and want to play with both the R/T and the Sleez!

Put a higher stall torque converter in say a 2600-2800 and that will avoid the torque management that kills the off the line power. Circle D has em or edge.

I know i'm drudging up an old post, but I thought it was funny that I found this as I'm browsing for serious performance parts for a D. I've got a 09 G8 GT that we're upsizing. I talked the wife into keeping the G8 and starting to mod it significantly. Problem with that is I had a '13 vette convertible as a rental over a sunny weekend in Sonoma, CA and I'm bit. Got the wife to agree to sell the G8 next year and get a '10-'12 grand sport 'vert :-)

I do love my G8, though....anybody else since this was last posted on?

I don't have the G8 but instead have the 2007 Caddy CTS-V, with the L2 powertrain....Also will never get rid of her. I traded in my Tahoe as well for the DDRT and have never looked back,

The G8 is a great looking ride!
