true duals means you have two pipes/mufflers/tips running from the front to the back as opposed to two pipes running into one muffler and one or two tips out the back

Does this make it better performance wise or just for looks?

Usually for performance, but also for looks. You can flow more air through true dual setup however if your motor does not require the extra airflow then its just for looks and you could actually lose performance... Power comes down to more air in + more air out = more power...you have to have it balanced more or less

Ahh ty for excellent answer. I think i will wait for the magnaflo true dual to come out for the v6, it should have the correct size pipes etc.

Magnaflow has a system available, contact them directly for more info but i believe it fits both V6/V8 applications!
